Identify the product precisely
Use the catalogue SKU with the preferred size and fragrance. A product name such as laundry detergent can refer to several different formats. Include any acceptable alternatives so the discussion does not stop at a single pack.
Give quantities by SKU
Provide an estimated quantity for each product, even if it is a planning range. Specify whether the amount means consumer units, cartons or another unit. Avoid a single total that combines different formats.
Describe your destination and timing
Include the destination country and, if known, the delivery port or city. Distinguish a desired dispatch date from the date goods need to arrive. Any timeline remains subject to the agreed order specification and logistics.
List the information you need
Request the pack details, case quantity, carton dimensions, weight, sample options and relevant product documents. Ask the supplier to identify the product or version each document covers.
Compare quotations on the same basis
Check that prices cover the same size, packaging, quantity and delivery scope. Record currency, validity, payment terms and any additional costs. A low unit price is not a complete landed-cost comparison.
